James BURNS , son of James BURNS ( - ), was born on 24 April 1888 in Barony, Glasgow, Scotland. ^3,4 He was born on 14 April 1895 in Barony. ^2,5 He was in Military Service between 26 March 1908 and 14 October 1922 with the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders. ^4,6 He was Promoted on 30 December 1916. ³ He was Promoted on 20 June 1918. ^3,7 He was Promoted on 11 September 1918. ³ On 19 April 1920 he was resident in Military Barracks, Limerick, Ireland. ¹ After 1922 he was resident in Sandgate, Brisbane, Australia. After 1923 he was a Physiotherapist in Whickam Terrace, Brisbane, Australia. After 1923 he was resident in Mossman, Sydney, Australia. He was in Military Service between 5 December 1942 and 14 October 1945 with the Royal Australian Air Force. ^5,8 He was Promoted on 1 June 1944. In October 1945 he was resident in 17 Ocean Avenue. ⁸ His Military Service Number was '8239'. He died on 23 June 1954 in Sydney, Australia. He and Kathleen TYNAN had the following children:
